need 的用法

need 可作情态动词， 也可作实义动词。

1. need 作为情态动词一般只用于否定句、疑问句或带有否定意义的句子。
1）用于否定句中，表示“不必”, “没有必要”。
You need not finish the work today. 你不需要今天完成工作。
You needn't do this if you don't want to. 你不想干这事就别干。
You needn't make two copies. One will do. 你不用复印两份文件，一份就够了。

2）用在带有否定意义的句子中。
I need hardly tell you that the job is dangerous. 不需要我说你也知道这工作有危险。
I scarcely need say how much I enjoy this holiday. 不用说也知道我假期过得多开心。
Nobody need be afraid of catching this disease. 谁都不用害怕得这种病。

3）用于疑问句中
Need we come tomorrow? Yes, you must. 我们明天必须来吗？是的，一定得来。
Need he leave so soon? 他得这么快就离开吗?
Why need you go today? 你为什么一定得今天走？

4）用于表示疑问的从句中
I can not see why we need discuss it further. 我不知道为什么我们还要谈下去。
I wonder if I need take these books with me. 我不知我是否要带上这些书。
She asked me whether she need come. 她问我她是否要来。

2. need 可作为实义及物动词。后面可以跟：
1）名词或代词
Do you need any help? 你需要帮忙吗？
The dog needs a bath. 这狗需要洗澡了。
I need someone to take care of my children. 我需要一个人来帮我照顾孩子。

2）不定式
Do I need to buy tickets for my children? 我需要给孩子们买票吗？
These flowers need to be watered twice a week. 这些花需要一周浇两次水。
What do you need to take with you on holiday? 你要带什么东西去度假？

4. 动名词
We need studying harder. 我们需要更加努力学习。
This garden does not need watering. It rained last night. 不必给花园浇水，昨晚下雨了。

4）复合宾语
I need my hair cut. 我要去剪头发了。
This doctor needed a nurse to help him during the surgery. 这位医生需要一位护士协助他完成手术。
We need you to work for us. 我们需要你为我们工作。
