宾语从句的虚拟语气

1) 有些动词和结构之后的宾语从句常用虚拟语气。常见的有 wish, would rather, would sooner, had rather, suppose 等。
a) 用过去式表示现在情况。（注: 动词be 用were或 was 都可以， 但用were时较多。）
* Now that he is in China, he wishes he understood Chinese. 现在他在中国，他希望能懂得中文。
* We wish we had wings. 我们希望有翅膀。
* I wish it were not so cold outside. 我希望外面没那么冷。
* To be frank，I'd rather you were not involved in the case．坦率地说，我希望你不要卷入这件事。
* I'd sooner she left the heavy end of the work to some one else. 我宁愿她把重活留给别人做。
* I had rather you didn't make any comment on the issue for the time being．我倒希望你暂时先不要就此事发表意见。
* Suppose you were given a chance to study in America, would you accept? 假如给你一个到美国学习的机会，你会接受吗？

b) 用过去完成时表示过去情况。
* He wishes he hadn't lost the chance. 他真希望没有失去机会。
* I wish I had been there with them last week. 我希望上周跟他们一起在那儿。
* John would rather that she hadn't gone to the party yesterday evening. 约翰情愿她昨晚没去参加聚会。
* I'd rather everything hadn't happened in the past. 我宁愿过去什么都没发生。
* I would sooner you had returned the book yesterday．我真希望你昨天把这本书还了。

2) 表示提议、建议、命令、要求的动词后的宾语从句， 谓语动词通常要用虚拟语气。 这类词常见的有: suggest, demand, advise, prefer, recommend, insist, ask，propose, urge, vote, request, desire, require, intend, decree, move 等。虚拟语气的表示形式为 should + 动词原形， 或者单独使用动词原形。否定形式则采用 not + 动词原形。
* The doctor suggested that he (should) try to lose his weight. 医生建议他应该努力减肥。
* I demand that he (should) answer me immediately. 我要求他立刻答复我。
* The teacher advised that we should make good use of every minute here. 老师劝我们要好好地利用在这儿的每一分钟。
* The Party asked that we serve the people with our heart and soul. 党要求我们要全心全意地为人民服务。
* He insisted that they (should) tell him the news. 他坚持他们应该告诉他这个消息。
* He insisted that the meeting (should) not be put off. 他坚持不要推迟会议。
* The teacher recommended that we (should) do more fast reading practice. 老师建议我们应做更多的快速阅读练习。
* The king ordered that the prisoner be killed the next day. 国王命令第二天杀了这个犯人。
* It is politely requested by the hotel management that radios not be played after 11 o'clock at night. 酒店管理礼貌地要求晚上11点后不要开收音机。
* It's suggested that the plan be carried out. 建议执行这个计划。
* It's desired that we (should) hold a meeting. 有人建议我们应该召开一次会议。
* It is required that nobody smoke here. 此处要求不能抽烟。
