neither...nor... 既不……也不……

1. “既不……也不……”这个选择并列关系的结构是写作时经常会用到的搭配。英文中表达这一意思的相应搭配相信大家并不陌生，就是 neither...nor...。这是一个并列结构，所以要注意其连接的成分在结构上和语态上需要一致。下面是例句。

His research seems neither necessary nor sufficient. 他的研究似乎既不必要也不充分。
Most users are neither beginners nor experts. 大多数用户既不是新手，也非专业人员。
Neither menus nor dialog boxes have this property. 菜单和对话框都没有此属性。

2. 这个结构中 nor 引导的部分常可以采用倒装语序。
We cannot turn the clock back, nor can we undo the harm. 我们无法让时光倒流，也不能消除伤害。

3. 英语的表达向来都是很灵活的。所以除了用上面提到的句式表达我们想要的意思外，当然还可以采用其他一些表达方式。

1) not...nor...
not...nor... 表达的意思与上述结构一样，用法也类似。 其中 nor引导的部分同样可以采用倒装语序。
This new tool doesn't cater to a beginner nor to a expert. 这种新工具既不适合初学者，也不适合专家。
There wasn't anyone behind the counter, nor were there any staff in the office. 柜台后面没有人，办公室里也没有任何工作人员。

2) either...or... 的否定句
either...or...可以看成是 neither...nor... 的反义词组，所以当 either...or... 采用否定句式时也就能表达我们想要的意思，如：
I am not in a position either to contradict or affirm this statement. 我既不否定这一说法，也不肯定这一说法。

3) 使用 and
同样道理，英文中可以使用 and 来表达 "既……又……”，那么加上否定则可以表达“既不……也不……”，如：
He felt no shame and no regret. 他既不感到羞愧也不感到遗憾。
